5 Best sentences you'll ever read

"You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of posperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it"

Health Care

Please forgive me as this is my first blog and please keep that in mind as you read it.

I listen to left wing and right wing radio, and I post on left wing and right wing boards. I would say that I am a person that is closer to the middle when it comes to views on politics.

As the health care debate unfolds I just wonder about a few things.

Some people thing that having basic health care is a right and should be taken care of by the government. Which I have a small problem with but not on a big scale. But, what gets me is some people think that people who own or work in the health care industry (insurance companies mainly) should not make a profit. And that got me to thinking.......if basic health care is a right then so should shelter and food. Then shouldn't the builders of homes not make a profit, or the landlords of apartment buildings not make a profit. What about the food industry??? Should Mickey D's make a profit on making America fat. Let alone General Mills.

And then you could go on to the people that make the materials to build the homes, steel, wood, carpets, glass manufactures, etc. Or the farmers or rancher that produce the basic food, milk, grain, corn, tomato's etc. I just wonder where it would end.
